Installation and Wiring Guide: LB-10W Outdoor Oil-Immersed Current Transformer

Pre-Installation Checks
- Visual Inspection: Check for physical damage during transportation
- Documentation Review: Verify product specifications match project requirements
- Tools Preparation: Gather required tools: torque wrench, insulation tester, grounding equipment
- Safety Equipment: Ensure proper PPE is available (insulated gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
Mounting Procedure
| Step | Procedure | Torque Specification |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Position transformer on mounting structure | N/A |
| 2 | Align fixing holes with mounting points | N/A |
| 3 | Insert and tighten mounting bolts | 15-20 N·m |
| 4 | Verify level and secure mounting | N/A |
Electrical Connections
Primary Connections
- Terminal Identification: P1 (line side), P2 (load side)
- Conductor Preparation: Clean contact surfaces, remove oxidation
- Connection Method: Use appropriate lugs or direct connection per specifications
- Torque: Apply specified torque to primary terminals (25-30 N·m)
Secondary Connections
- Terminal Configuration: Multi-core secondary windings as per specifications
- Wire Selection: Use minimum 2.5mm² copper conductors for secondary circuits
- Connection Sequence: Connect S1 first, then other secondary terminals
- Grounding: Ground one point of secondary circuit per IEC 61869
Clearance Requirements
| Parameter | Minimum Requirement | Standard Reference |
|---|---|---|
| Air Clearance | 125 mm | IEC 61869 |
| Creepage Distance | 250 mm | IEC 61869 |
| Phase-to-Phase | 200 mm | Local regulations |
| Phase-to-Ground | 150 mm | Local regulations |
Wiring Diagrams
Standard wiring configurations for LB-10W transformer:
- Single CT Configuration: For single-phase applications
- Three CT Configuration: For three-phase systems (star or delta)
- Ground Fault Protection: Zero-sequence configuration when applicable
Post-Installation Verification
- Mechanical Security: Verify all mounting bolts are properly tightened
- Electrical Continuity: Test primary and secondary circuit continuity
- Insulation Resistance: Measure insulation resistance (>100 MΩ at 500V DC)
- Polarity Verification: Confirm correct terminal polarity (P1/P2, S1/S2)
Safety Precautions
Warning: Secondary circuits must never be left open when energized.
- Always short-circuit and ground secondary terminals before any maintenance work
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures during installation
- Verify de-energization before making any connections
- Comply with local electrical safety regulations and standards
