Product Overview
The ZN63(VS1)-24 is a three-phase 50 Hz handcart (center-mounted) indoor high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker rated 24 kV, used for control and protection in power plants, substations and industrial or mining distribution systems. Rated currents of 630 A, 1250 A and 1600 A pair with breaking capacities of 20 kA, 25 kA and 31.5 kA, suiting frequent operation and important loads, including high-altitude sites.

Model Designation

Model format: ZN 63 − 24 / □ − □
- Z — Vacuum circuit breaker
- N — Indoor installation
- 63 — Design sequence number
- 24 — Rated voltage (kV)
- First □ — Rated current (A)
- Second □ — Rated short-circuit breaking current (kA)
Example: ZN63(VS1)-24 / 1250 − 25 denotes a 24 kV indoor vacuum circuit breaker with 1250 A rated current and 25 kA rated short-circuit breaking current. ZN63 is the GB type code; VS1 is the equivalent common trade name.
Service Conditions
- Ambient temperature: −40 °C to +40 °C
- Altitude: not above 1000 m (higher sites require a correspondingly raised insulation level)
- Seismic intensity: not above degree 8
- Relative humidity: daily average ≤ 95%, monthly average ≤ 90%
- Environment: free from fire, explosion hazard, serious pollution, chemical corrosion and violent vibration
Construction
The arc is extinguished in a sealed, maintenance-free vacuum interrupter, giving long electrical life with no fire or explosion risk. The standard spring energy-storage mechanism is charged from AC or DC 220 V / 110 V or manually and provides stored-energy closing with reliable interlocking; an optional permanent-magnet mechanism extends mechanical life to 60000 operations for very frequent duty.
A front-to-back split structure lets the breaker serve either as a fixed mounting unit or as a center-mounted handcart racked on a chassis inside metal-enclosed switchgear. The primary circuit connects to the busbar through static contacts or cable lugs, and the secondary circuit is wired to the control and protection loop through the terminal block.

Standards
Designed and type-tested to GB/T 1984 and IEC 62271-100 for AC high-voltage circuit breakers, with manufacturing and inspection in accordance with DL/T 403 for indoor high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers 3.6 kV to 40.5 kV.
Installation & Dimensions
Installation Diagram

The breaker is supplied as a handcart (center-mounted) unit for metal-enclosed switchgear and can be moved between connected, test and disconnected positions for safe isolation, or installed as a fixed mounting unit using the split structure. The breaker and its frame must be reliably earthed before commissioning.
